You keep paying for the same mistakes.

A healthy sales number can hide an expensive working day. Materials are ordered again. A job is corrected after delivery. An urgent purchase costs more because the earlier requirement was missed.

Recognise the pattern?

Which avoidable costs have become normal in your business?

  • The same job needs a second round of work.
  • Small discounts or extra costs appear after a deal is agreed.
  • Rush purchases and last-minute arrangements are common.
  • You learn about an overrun after the money has been spent.

The cost of leaving it unresolved

Revenue grows. Too little of it stays.

Work paid for twice

Replacement materials, extra labour, freight and corrections can turn one mistake into several costs.

Margin given away

Unplanned concessions and unrecovered extra work can leave a sale looking better than its actual contribution.

Problems noticed late

The longer an avoidable cost remains invisible, the longer the business can keep repeating it.

What relief looks like

Fewer repeat costs. Earlier attention to overruns. More confidence that the revenue you work for is worth earning.

Start with evidence from your business.

Choose a recent month. Collect actual rework costs, emergency purchase premiums and unrecovered extra work. Trace each cost to a specific incident before estimating how much might be avoidable.

Do not count the same expense twice across rework, overruns and customer concessions. Lost sales should be assessed by contribution, not by treating all revenue as profit.
